RUSSIAN TULA-MADE COSSACK KINDJAL DAGGER

DESCRIPTION

An antique cossack-style kindjal hunting dagger manufactured in Tula, Russia, in the 19th century. The horn-gripped steel handle is decorated with laurel motifs. The double-edged and curved steel blade is single-fullered and unmarked. The wooden scabbard is covered with leather and fitted with decorated steel mounts.

CONDITION

The knife is in untouched antique condition with some signs of age and wear. The handle is slightly loose and the checkered grip shows some chips. The leather cover of the scabbard is worn and the mounts are slightly loose. The extreme tip of the blade is broken. The knife fits tightly in its scabbard.
