INDIAN ZAGHNAL WARHAMMER

DESCRIPTION
A 19th Century Indian Zaghnal Warhammer/War axe originating from India. A strong, steel axe head fitted onto a wooden rod. Axe head is decorated with brass lions and an elephant, which works as both counterbalance weight for the head as well as bearing religious and spiritual symbolism, relating to the Hindu deity Ganesh. Handle made of painted and carved wood with bone inlays in the form of little dots running down the rod.

CONDITION
The war hammer is in good antique condition. The head is a little loose on the rod, and is prone to slipping off.
