A fine and rare small-sized buckler shield made of iron and decorated with damascened gold work and deep engravings of floral patterns and depictions of hunters and animals. The backside of the shield has original silk liner centered with a leather pillow and handle straps. The shield is in untouched condition with fine gold work and fine-conditioned strap bosses. Shields of this size are unusual and rarely encountered.
