MEDAL BAR & CERTIFICATES OF A WINTER WAR VETERAN
Finland / dated 1940–1958
A rare medal entity including a medal bar of 7 medals and their certificates (1 missing) of Major Wisakanto who served in the Finnish Army during the Winter War (1939-1940) and Continuation War (1941-1945) and apparently continued to serve after the wars. The bar includes the following medals:
2nd Class Cross of Liberty (after-war issue) with Swords (awarded in 1958)
4th Class Cross of Liberty (Continuation War issue) with Swords and Oak Leaves (awarded in 1942)
4th Class Cross of Liberty (Winter War issue) with Swords (awarded in 1940)
1st Class Knight’s Cross of White Rose of Finland (no certificate)
Commemorative Medal of Winter War with swords and the bar KARJALAN KANNAS (awarded in 1940)
Commemorative Medal of Continuation War (awarded in 1957)
Campaign Cross of Northern Viena (awarded c. 1945–1955)
The medals and the certificates are in good vintage condition with minor signs of wear.
