TRENCH ART PUUKKO KNIFE

A vintage Finnish trench art ‘puukko’ knife from the Winter War or Continuation War period (1939-1945) with a typical Kauhava-style galalite handle which is engraved with the emblems of the Finnish Air Forces and a lady’s name ‘Vieno’. The handle is fitted with a decorated nickelsilver lower mount and is attached to a large steel blade typical for the soldier knives of the period. The knife is in good vintage condition with well-preserved handle. The blade shows some dark spots and nicks on the edge.
