M/1865 INFANTRY OFFICER SABRE

An antique Russian M/1865 infantry officer sabre with the original steel scabbard. The brass hilt has a single-bar crossguard with floral patterns and a wire-bound grip. The steel blade is marked A. Solingen and the hilt is marked by the distributor Schaff (Шафъсыновья), St. Petersburg. Notice that the M/1865 pattern is virtually identical with the earlier M/1841 pattern except that the scabbard is steel instead of leather. This sword is in good antique condition with minor signs of wear.
