JAVANESE GOLOK SWORD
Indonesia / Late 19th Century
A 19th century javanese golok sword with a silver-plated scabbard and handle. Manufactured in the late 19th century, most likely in Indonesia. The curved blade is made of sturdy steel. It is one-sided, and the sharper side has some dents on it. The scabbard is made of wood and finished with a beautiful silver foil. The thinnest parts of the silver plating, like the tip and the top edge of the scabbard has been slightly bent and cracked. The sword’s leaf-motif continues onto the handle, which has similar carved silver plating to the scabbard. The sword fits well in its scabbard, although it is a little loose. It is in untouched antique condition.
