PERSIAN ALL STEEL QAJAR JAMBIYA

c. 1850 / Persia

All-steel qajar dagger with a typical double fullered jambiya blade. It is engraved with a hunting scenery of what appears to be a lion and an ox. Handle and scabbard are made of engraved steel, showing remains of once gilded finish. The engravings depict repeating patterns of royal portraits and animals. Very nice classical shaped jambiya. Clean blade that might show a nice damascus pattern after polishing.
