FRENCH M/1853 NAVAL OFFICER SABRE

FRANCE, c. 1850-1870

A fine French navy officer sabre, pattern M/1853 used during the reign of Napoleon III. The handle and the scabbard mounts are beautifully gilt, the upper scabbard mount with an anchor and crown. Typical French military markings on the blade. The sabre is an original untouched example in a very nice condition.
