SUMATRAN SIKIN PANYANG SWORD

SUMATRA, INDONESIA, late 19th century

An antique sikin panyang sword from Sumatra region. The carved wooden handle is fitted to a strong, fullered steel blade. The hardwood scabbard is fitted with copper and nickelsilver mounts.

The sword is in good vintage condition with some minor signs of wear. The handle wood has a crack. The sword fits well in its scabbard.
