NORTH EUROPEAN CROSSBOW

NORTH EUROPE, c. 1800–1840

A 19th century North European crossbow with a sturdy steel bow and a wooden gun-shaped stock made probably of ashwood. The bow retains original old strings and a carrying ring in the front of the stock. The stock has checkered and dark-stained decorations.

The item is in overall nice, original antique condition. The lock mechanism could do with a little maintenance and the trigger guard is slightly bent.
