STEEL-HILTED JAMBIYA

PERSIA, c. 1880

A Qajar-period Persian steel-hilted jambiya dagger with remains of original silver decoration. The steel blade is etched with texts and the both sides of the forte is depicted with a portrait of a prince. The blade tip is enforced.

The unsheathed dagger is in nice, untouched antique condition with a few nicks on the blade edge. The base of the blade is missing a little filling, but the blade is firmly in place and does not wobble.
