FINNISH WWII COMMEMORATIVE MEDAL OF THE CONTINUATION WAR (SWEDISH)

DESCRIPTION
An original vintage Finnish WWII medal, the Commemorative Medal of the Continuation War (Jatkosodan Muistomitali). This medal, designed by Lauri Leppänen in 1957, was awarded, based on the application, to those who participated in the Finnish Continuation War (1941-1945). The round medal is made of bronze, and the text “FOSTERLANDET 1941-1945” is inscribed on the reverse. This is the rarer Swedish-written version. Two different versions were made since Finland is a bilingual country. The original white-and-blue silk ribbon is attached. The ribbon is secured with a safety pin.

The medal is in good vintage condition with small signs of age and wear.
