RARE HUNTING SWORD

An unusual baroque hunting dagger/sword featuring an oriental style karabela crossguard with a black horn handle and a bird pommel in fire gilded bronze. Fantastic pierced and gilded multi-fullered blade.
Although our sword is unmarked, it resembles a few known examples of swords of the same style bearing Monograms of Fredrick V from Denmark.
Close example with similar features but with a silver hilt resides in the Philadelphia Art Museum in Pittsburgh.
