GERMAN WWI MEDICAL FIELD CANTEEN

DESCRIPTION
A vintage WWI era medical field canteen manufactured in the 1910s Imperial Germany for military use in WW1. The canteen is made apparently of aluminium and it is covered with field-green felt cloth. The original cork stopper has a steel cap and the brass cup is attached with a leather belt strap. The cup is maker-marked ‘HIRSCHHORN 1915’. The canteen comes with a later cloth carrying strap which is US Army marked and dated 1943.

CONDITION
The canteen is in used vintage condition with signs of age and overall wear. The cloth has not been opened but based on the finger feel the bottle has a few small dents. The bottle cap is still sticky and smells like the sweet liquid.
