FINNISH WWI COMMEMORATIVE MEDAL OF THE LIBERATION WAR

DESCRIPTION
An original antique Finnish WWI medal, the Commemorative Medal of the Liberation War (Vapaussodan Muistomitali). This medal, designed by Akseli Gallen-Kallela, was awarded to those White soldiers who took part in the Finnish Liberation War (1918). Approximately 71.000 medals were manufactured. The medal is made of steel and the reverse is stamp-marked by the manufacturer (Tillander). The original black-and-blue silk ribbon is attached.

CONDITION
The medal is in good vintage condition with some signs of age and wear and patinated surface. The original ribbon is somewhat worn and faded.
