DESCRIPTION
A vintage large-sized jambiya dagger manufactured in Arabian peninsula, probably in Saudi Arabia, approximately in the early or mid 20th century. The silver hilt is decorated with rich ornaments and it is made in a shape of two bird heads. as s backside is engraved with some Arabic inscriptions. The curved steel blade is double-edged and it has a central ridge. The massive silver-covered leather sheath is richly decorated and its backside has an original leather cover.
CONDITION
The knife is in untouched vintage condition with some signs of age and overall wear. The hilt and the blade are in good shape. The upper part of the silver scabbard is damaged on its backside. The leather backcover of the scabbard shows signs of wear due to drying and its attachment strips are mostly worn off. The knife fits quite well in its scabbard.
