PATA SWORD WITH A TIGER-HEADED HILT

4800,00

INDIA, 18th Century

A fine bronze-hilted gauntlet sword which handle is finely formed in shape of a beautiful whiskered tiger head with pointing ears. The blade is a typical European one with a single fuller. The blade is engraved with a silhouette of a hussar, typically seen on Balkan and Hungarian swords and sabres. For our knowledge the blade seems to be of a Venetian origin. Beautiful, untouched antique condition
