PRUSSIAN M/1811 BLUCHERSABEL CAVALRY SABRE

M/1811 BLUCHERSABEL CAVALRY SABRE
Prussia / early 19th Century

An antique M/1811 ‘Bluchersabel’ cavalry sabre with typical leather-covered wooden grip and heavy steel scabbard. Regimental markings, though not matching, shown both on the hilt and the scabbard. This military pattern was named after the famous Prussian field marshal von Blucher who got his fame during the 1815 battle of Waterloo. The sabre is in good, antique condition with normal signs of wear, some pitting on the blade and some small dents on the scabbard. The sword fits very well in its scabbard.
