PRUSSIAN M/1873 ARTILLERY OFFICER SABRE
DESCRIPTION
An antique, almost hanger-length M/1873 artillery officer sabre manufactured for the Prussian army. The steel hilt features a typical P-shaped crossguard marked with regimental markings. The wooden grip is covered with black leather. The wide-fullered curved steel blade is marked by the manufacurer on the spine. The original leather washer is attached. The sword comes without a scabbard. navy officer sword manufactured probably in the mid 20th century for the Saudi Arabian army. The brass hilt features the coat of arms of Saudi Arabia. The grip is of bone-coloured bakelite with damaged brass wiring. The slightly curved steel blade is beautifully etched with floral decorations and Saudi emblem. The leather washer is attached and the ricasso is marked by the Solingen German manufacturer, Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Co. The gilded steel scabbard features two belt loops.
CONDITION
The sword is in good antique condition with some signs of age and overall wear. The blade is straight and the hilt is very tight.
