An antique smallsword, probably of a Spanish origin, with a long diamond-sectioned Toledo-marked blade ideal for piercing thick jackets of the time. The brass hilt has an asymmetrical protective plate on the crossguard and large-sized quillions. The pommel is in the shape of a crested military helmet. The binding of the handle is original. A good-conditioned antique example.
