SWEDISH M/1893 CAVALRY SABRE

DESCRIPTION
An antique Swedish M/1893 cavalry sabre manufactured by E. Svalling workshop in the late 19th century or early 20th century Eskilstuna, Sweden, for the Swedish army. The brass handle features a leather-covered wooden grip finished with brass wiring. The pommel is stamp-marked with the owner’s name and some regimental markings. The original portepe tassel is attached. The single-fullered double-edged steel blade is marked by the manufacturer on the ricasso. Fragments of the leather washer has remained. The blued steel scabbard is stamp-marked again with the owner’s name and other markings.

CONDITION
The sword is in good antique condition with small signs of age and wear. The leather grip shows some wear and there is a slight gap between the grip and the brass pommel. The sword fits well in the scabbard. When compared to the scabbard, the blade seems to retain its original full length.
