SWORD FOR NCO M/1922 FINLAND

FINNISH dated 1971

A straight-bladed presentation sword for a Finnish non-commissioned officer. The model M/1922 was designed by Axel Gallen-Kallela during the early years of the independent Finland. This type with the crossguard consisting of three open bars was used by all ground and air forces except the field artillery, coastal artillery and cavalry.

The sword is in nice condition with some signs of wear on the scabbard. The handle is engraved with a presentation text and the owner’s initials. The blade has typical German markings.
