DESCRIPTION
An antique sword guard ‘tsuba’ in Nanban style manufactured probably in Japan or China, approximately in the 18th century or early 19th century. The iron guard is skillfully pierced and chiselled with entwined dragons. The eyes of the dragons and the rim of the guard are gilded. The guard is unsigned.
CONDITION
The guard is in good antique condition with typical minor signs of age and wear.
